    For meat and poutlry, at least, this is a repulsive cartoon. Just look at the numbers and how food safety for these products has improved over the last century since the Federal Meat Inspection Act was passed. And in the last decade the almost 40% drop in foodborne illnesses attributed to E coli, L monocytogenis, shigella and Campylobacter.
    Do we hear about Tuberculosis or Diphtheria from milk any more, do we hear about Trichinosis from Pork? Things are better, and they will get even better if we can keep the politicians at bay.

    WASTE is the money spent for sick people after they where poisoned. Prevention is always a good investment.
    FRAUD is what’s going on in the industry, from adding melamine and other sickened stuff into food and feed, lately aflatoxin fungus in pet food, Mr. Marler can add to this list for hours.     ABUSE is not following already existing rules and laws to put safe and clean food and feed on our tables.
