This afternoon, the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts (RCAHD) announced that RCAHD has identified a total of 50 confirmed primary cases and 2 secondary cases.  There have been at least 31 hospitalizations and unfortunately 3 deaths.

RCAHD stresses that hepatitis A is a preventable disease. RCAHD urges everyone to consistently practice good hand washing

WFXR reports that the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts announced Tuesday that the number of people infected with hepatitis A more than doubled over the last two weeks following an outbreak at three Famous Anthony’s locations, going from 14 to 35 cases.

Health officials first reported the outbreak on Sept. 24, saying that

There will be two more Hepatitis A vaccination clinics in Chautauqua County this week after a potential exposure to the virus at a restaurant.

The Chautauqua County Health Department

The Genesee County Health Department in conjunction with the Saginaw County Health Department has confirmed a case of hepatitis A in a foodservice worker who was employed at both the Kentucky Fried Chicken located at 6021 Dort Hwy in Grand Blanc Township and 9230 Birch Run Road in Birch Run, Michigan.

Both facilities are cooperating
