What the Grave of a Listeria Cantaloupe Victim Looks Like

Someone from our “greatest generation” – a hero in war – killed by a cantaloupe.  What a country he fought for.

Rest in peace Mr. Schwarz – Section 51 Row 1 Grave 3.  From one of his sons:

Today Paul A Schwarz Jr would have turned 93! The last time I was there was on the 23rd of December. There were only 2 grave markers and dad would have been the 3rd. The 2nd row already has 6 or 7 markers. Leavenworth/Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery is a beautiful place. Sod will be laid down soon.

Thanks very much Bill! Dad would have not wanted all of the fuss, but people should know that this happened to him and 35 others (plus 1 miscarriage). There is also 146 that took ill from listeria tainted cantaloupe. Congress has not given this veteran and others who died, hearings that they deserve!
