Four children from an Ohio family became ill between September 8th and 11th after eating ground beef, and one was hospitalized for about 10 days. These illnesses, tied to positive tests for E. coli O157;H7 in left-over meat, prompted 131,300 pounds of beef produced in the state of Kansas by Tyson Fresh Meats Inc., to be recalled.

Now, Russia is banning Kansas Beef? The Russian news agency Interfax cited Gennady Onishchenko, the head of Russian consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, as saying: “In order to prevent the product coming to the Russian market, we introduced a ban.”
