I have been searching for things positive today.

Here is one.

My grandfather, Lawrence, bought this Ford tractor new in 1940 and used it on his farm until the 1970’s when he died of lung cancer – likely acquired during his decades of working in the lead mines between farming and raising eight kids – one of then my dad. At some point the tractor stopped working and for some 30 years was parked and rusting.

But, my brother and I remember riding on it on grandpa’s lap in the 1960’s when we would visit the farm with my parents in the Summer.

I bought the tractor in 2019 and my brother and I have been having it restored as a project for my brother (who voted far differently than I did today) and I.

It is looking good as you can see below.

Perhaps there is a lesson in this for all of us?
