On Friday, March 25 HEALTH issued a recall of all baked goods from DeFusco’s Bakery in Johnston. The following is a list of food establishments that purchased zeppole (cream or pastry shells) or other baked goods from DeFusco’s. If you purchased any of the following baked goods from the food establishments on the purchase dates listed you are advised to immediately throw them out.

If you have eaten any of the listed products and have gotten sick (especially with nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea), contact your healthcare provider immediately for evaluation and treatment.

Cases of Illness between March 14 – 29, 2011:

* 75 Cases Total (74 in Rhode Island, 1 in Massachusetts)

* 29 Hospitalizations (27 Discharged, 2 Current)

* 46 Lab-confirmed Salmonella

* 2 Salmonella-associated Deaths
