4th Jimmy John’s E. coli Lawsuit Filed in Iowa

The CDC announced today a total of 29 individuals infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli O26 have been reported from 11 states. The number of ill persons identified in each state is as follows: Alabama (1), Arkansas (1), Iowa (5), Kansas (2), Michigan (10), Missouri (3), Ohio (3), Pennsylvania (1), Washington (1), Wisconsin (1), and West Virginia (1).  Another lawsuit was filed in Iowa. (Complaint PDF)

    There are obviously more people than those cases because I reported it to my local health department after I saw it a month later on the news. I was told the only cases the CDC gets a report of are those who were tested positive for e coli. I called both my doctor and Jimmy Johns on January 10th (to let them know something i ate there had made me sick and so that they would investigate so other would not get sick) when I got sick and my Doctor treated it like the stomach flu even after I told him this was not the flu! I did not end up in the ER
    dehydrated like others because I stayed hydrated but it was still a painful miserable week of feeling sick. I knew I had food poisoning and there was proof a month later on the news.
