    Bill,
How will the fact that 3/4 of the companies listed as defendants are foreign affect this case?

  • Sam, I m confused – foreign?

  • Tamara

I see what Bill is looking at, at the top of the document … Defendants: JENSEN FARMS, a trade name; FRONTERA PRODUCE LTD., a foreign corporation; PRIMUS GROUP, INC d/b/a PRIMUS LABS, a foreign corporation; BIO FOOD SAFETY, INC., a foreign corporation; and PEPPER EQUIPMENT CORP., a domestic corporation
I see that Frontera is based in Texas, does “foreign” mean something special as a legal term ?

  • Sorry, lawyers get used to these things. This just means out of state – not out of U.S.

    Go get them Bill!
    Section 51 Row 1 Grave3!

  • So sad that there has to be such a battle to establish our right to safe food…. Bill, I am very grateful that there are people like you who are prepared to fight to see this addressed.

This news just in. Would you think that congress would hold hearings on a cruise ship tragedy or the worst food borne illness tragedy in the last 25 years? The ‘people’s house’ held hearings yesterday on the cruise ship tragedy! I am not making light of the lives that were lost and survivors, but the Jensen Farms listeria cantaloupe is ongoing since last summer! Shame on congress for not holding hearings for our loved ones that were lost and that are still suffering.

The CDC still reports 30 deaths (http://www.cdc.gov/listeria/outbreaks/cantaloupes-jensen-farms/120811/index.html). Yet this complaint tallies 33, including Mr. Hauser. Is there any official record of deaths associated with this outbreak, other than the CDC’s 30?
