Just before going overseas with the Peace Corps (Iran) in 1969 we were "Stuck" with 1cc of Gamma Globulin per 20 pounds of body weight. For those of us approaching 200 Lbs. that meant 5cc in the left "Cheek" and 5cc in the right "Cheek". For the next 48 hours it felt like one had been hit on both "Cheeks" with a baseball bat. The stuff, at least what they used then, had the consistancy of honey and required a somewhat larger bore needle than the other vaccinations we received. It was given intramuscular to boot. While in country we all got an additional 5cc every six months or so regardless of body weight. A memory that has lasted 40 years.
