No one seems to know and I imagine it is hard to find the exact cause, which of course is not good for the tomato growers or us. I love tomatoes. I guess I will grow my own and hope my seeds are healthy.

Neither from the growers using untreated irrigation water. Their is a very good possibility that the tomatoes were contaminated during the transportation stage. Many truck drivers haul meat, poultry, and pork and don't bother to clean or wash the trailers. That's were's there's good possibility were the contaminated tomatoes came from.
